About Us

At Roxie's Redone Doggie Duds we rescue fabrics that otherwise would have been thrown away. Our inspiration comes from our little dog Roxie who as a puppy was dumped, found sick and scared and eventually rescued to a new life. Roxie now works as a service dog and companion. We believe that like Roxie, everything, and everyone, deserves a second (or third, or fourth) chance at a new life and a new usefulness.

All of our fun, functional, quality products are made from re-used and post consumer fabrics. While most green pet companies make items out of "virgin" materials such as hemp that are harvested, processed and manufactured for one thing, we collect scrap textiles from manufacturers that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. We also give a second life to discarded clothing by cleaning, deconstructing and remaking them into quality items for your animal companion. We also incorporate, as often as we can, re-used clasps, buttons, hooks and embellishments.

By re-using fabrics we are not only reducing items ending up in the landfill, we are limiting the production of toxins. For every conventional cotton shirt produced in the U.S., a 1/4 pound of chemical fertilizer and pesticides are used. These toxins have been linked to water contamination. The fertilizers have been linked to "blue baby syndrome" and traditional dye processes involve heavy metals that are known carcinogens.
